5D2 w/ 270EX

I just saw that canon released new firmware for 50D, 450D and 1000D primarily for 'Supports the AF assist beam feature of the new flash, Speedlite 270 EX, which is scheduled to be released in April 2009.'

5D2 no need any such update?

Smaller form factor flash is convenient for some situations.

I think there is a firmware coming up for 5D2 as well. Rumor has it that Canon is working on the manual control for video and is still doing beta testings. I would expect 5D2 to need a firmware update in order to recognize the 270EX.

270EX will be a good little flash for people who miss the in-camera fill flash that the xxD and xxxD provides.
