Default Focusing Light with about 44 LEDs?

Anyone know where to buy this focusing light with many LEDs...i think about 40 plus. The last time I saw was at a shop at Concourse but they have shifted and I can't remember which shop it was. Anyone has come across such focusing light?

I know it's not very clear but I can't get a pic of it. Recently someone was selling on Finsonline but thread closed n pic not there anymore.

Anyones help is much appreciated.

Cheers

I believe you are talking about 10Bar's 44LED dive light..... I own and use 1.

You can try getting one at ScubaCam - http://www.scubacam.com.sg/

And also at Oceanic Asia Pacific - http://www.oceanicasia.com.sg/index.html

Be warn..... it works well as a focuing light..... but isn't so good as a dive light (can't see far in the dark).

The shop at concourse i believe you're referring to is the oceanic shop that has shifted to parklane. And yes they still have that torch on sale. I use it as a focus light and night dive light on my set-up. Serves me well and i have no issue with the range and penetration power of the torch.

ok..i'm still deciding between this one and the small black one with auto cut-off sensor.

but first i will have to stick a hotshoe adapter on my ikelite housing first.

how do you mount your focus light when you use the ikelite housing?

ok..how much is the extension? i'm thinking of just buying a cheap hot-shoe and glue it to the housing..probly cost like $5? hehe. i'm really getting a little sick of all the little parts and pieces that can really ruin your trip if you leave them at home..

That would be usual price.... I got mine a ScubaCam for $100 more than a year ago. Only recently 'upgraded' to high power LED light for nightdive.... But planned to remount the 44LED light on the other side of my tray as focus light for nightdive.....

Too late.... you already kena the U/W photography virus.... there's no turning back now !!

Btw, $120-$140 isn't too $$$ for a good LED light. My new 3 watt LED light costed me $240....

I'm currently using mini Q40 LED light but find the beam too narrow so thought of get this 44 LEDs light to give a wider coverage. Any thoughts on the wider coverage?

i have the mini Q40 for swimming around, and the 44LED for focusing, but sometimes i got lazy and use only the 44LED focusing light

May I ask, is the 44 LED light wider in terms of coverage than the Q40?
I guess so but have not tried so not very sure......

Thanks!

Yup.... the 44 LED is good for 'Wide Coverage'. And thats the reason why I don't think it makes a good dive light. While you can see your surrounding.... you can't see far beyond 3-5metres. I was on a Solo Nightdive recently at the House Reef of a Philippines DC.... I had to hold the camera on the left hand, and my spare dive light on my right.... not really an effective way to dive.

It was with the help of my spare dive light that I spotted a BIG octopus some distance away... Would have missed it if I didn't have a light that could 'see' farer. Of course... normally we wouldn't be doing nightdive by yourself, but a more powerful light would still comes in handy

Wow.... my 1st Solo Nightdive was quite scary.... Kept looking over my shoulder for anything that is NOT there And always think that a Giant Sea Cucumber is about to attack me

But I do love the fact that no one else is blocking me or have to wait my turn on a subject....

Thanks....usually I'll have 2 lights secured to my Cam....one focusing light and another either strapped to the U/W casing or my arm. Super KS! No choice....I'm a Singaporean!

Thanks for all your info....will go buy that light. Next week diving liao!!!! woohooo!
Can't wait to jump into the water!

Cheers!
