hi guys, did this using geometrical compositions.
for this shot, basically if i'm not wrong, the recurring squares and rectangular shapes help to strengthen the composition of the photo. the strong contrast between the yellow background and the squarish objects also strengthen the composition. pls feel free to comment on this. ![]() the following photo may look like a normal snapshot to you. i tried to compose this using triangular geometrical compositions. feel free to comment on whether this works for you or not. ![]() thanks a lot. ![]()

What triangular composition? Can you show us by illustrating on your picture?

Hmm.., interesting idea you have.
If I am not wrong, the first picture inside the MRT should be using the perpective to emphasis the so call triangular composition. I don't find it interesting enough to be unique. The second picture does a better job in conveying your message. I like the idea but probably a few variations like zooming on certain shapes might be good. |

hey wormz if you think in terms of shape, like look at the lines running from the handrails, you'd be able to see triangles. just try to draw them out free hand. there're actually lots of them.
dannynys, thanks for your comments. i was trying to go for simple yet strong shots. i.e. ordinary shots but because of the way the subject is framed, the composition is strong and the shot stands out from others that show the same thing. last time excentrique showed me one of the guy's books but i can't really remember his name lol. but more or less it's the same theory

dude. one thing. horizon tilt.. very important...
1st pic's good observation and has postential to develop further, try cropping to a certain area that best emphasize your idealogy 2nd pic - go for the conventional. close up shot with receding background on the handles itself.

Oh... I see. But like what nuts said, there are too elements and there's nothing distinct to catch my attention.
You can have many elements, but each should have some interest of their own imo.

1st pic, I would give points for its simple look and feel.
2nd pic, too messy. It's a snapshot even if you say it's not. Should bring your cam closer to the handles just like what SniperD said. It won't work when the subject occupies too small an area in a photo with such a messy background. |

i like the 1st one but the tilt totally spoils the effect and i dun see any other triangle patterns in the 2nd one besides the hanging hand holding things

hi guys, yes the tilt sorta spoils the effect. i tried many times but somehow there's just a tilt there.. maybe the building is tilted lol (
)okay here's what i'm trying to show by the "geometry of triangles" thingy. there's no subject in that mrt photo, just geometry.. if you look at it from my viewpoint lah.. ![]() you see those red triangles? they're recurring so they sorta "enhance" (or is -supposed- to enhance) composition. in simple words there're several planes of lines that will meet at that "center" point.. but of course sadly that "center" point has no subject.. lol...
