Did the price just went up?
Got this from the canon price guide. The 12-24mm f4.5-5.6 EX DG HSM - $1050 (CP) | $1030 (AP-S) | $990 (OP) But I happen to ask for the price just now for the Nikon mount, and was quoted $1781 inclusive gst and after discount. Hey, that's a lot of difference. Can anyone advise on the latest price? Or is the shop not being honest? Thanks.

I am puzzled how they managed to sell at 1K when US amazon is selling USD799?

Buy somewhere else.
The price did went up but not that ridiculous. I just got one last week for under $1350, inclusive of GST. |

Was thinking about it... That's why walk pass the shop will go inside and try. Who knows they treat me as a carrot? sigh.

that's really weird. I got mine for 1370 for Canon mount but I'm very sure there are a lot of places htat still have Nikon mount pre-Yen hike, so they should still sell for 1k only.

It's the II version. TCW quoted me $1150 some time back.

Is there such a thing ? If there was... it would have been all over the net in its announcement. Its not found anywhere in any official Sigma catalogue, website etc...
The lens has always been listed as ~$1100 by most shops all this while. Anything under $1k is most likely grey imports. I got mine over a year ago, local warranty and under $1k but that was because I was quoted wrongly then (its not a commonly asked for lens back then... ) and the shop owner graciously stuck by the quote, the actual price of which would have been closer to $1100. I was lucky. Seems like Sigma have adjusted the price of this lens recently worldwide.. Its a lens for a whole new perspective of things. But definitely has a steep learning curve in extracting the best out of it. Its really a lens for 'atmospheric aspirations' in the photos taken rather than for pixel peepers. But seriously.... for the shear breath of 12mm on a FF camera ? Nothing comes close ! ![]() Last edited by KangS; 8th May 2009 at 11:49 PM. |

Quoted by MS Colour to be $1350 w/GST.
Issue is, need to order, then it will be shipped from Japan. I'm more worried about the quality of the lens rather than the price. Reading that Sigma's QC is quite disastrous, who's to say of the odds of getting a lemon?? |
