Packing up to go diving now.. looks like I am lugging tons of gear for photography and have a good mind to just bring one camera.. Hmmm wonder how much is my G7 with housing is worth? And how much is the D700 housing with 17-35port...

If you're already worried about weight, then I suggest you rethink getting a housing for your D700 and just stick to your G7

Don't think selling your G7 + Canon housing would be enough to even get a Dome Port for your DSLR housing.....

don't forget to have a spare D700 too.....always have a backup cam
