hi.. are you covering for any of the school or a neutral shooter?

if you are covering, its understandable which side of the field you will stand at..

if you are just a neutral party shooting the event, try to stand at the side such that you will not shoot directly into the sun... shooting into the sun causes the players to be underexposed and some flaring (resulting in lesser contrast)..

size is a bonus in rugby, not a must.

and differently sized pple play differnt roles in the game.

With 200mm you should be getting some more tighter shots then this.
First post was right, shooting into the sun isnt the best idea, the teams swap sides anyway so you will have a bit of teams.
AF Continuous on a nikon. If you are shooting in the sun meter with SPOT do all that you can do to get those shadows out and the background will be blown out, which is often i nice effect. Always make your job easier, the sun will not change for you so just change for the sun aha

Definitely tighter crops, but i do like how you have focused on the emotion of the crowds, like in #35. 38# is good, i like the scenery and the background i don't think it needs a tighter crop.

Faces, tighter crop, emotions. Shutter speeds are high i see no motion blur

Keep shooting you will only get better and better
