Hi Bros,
Just wondering why this few days there are always CZ 1680 popping out in the B&S section? And most of them are only used for a few months and in very good condition. Are there any problems with CZ 1680 other than zoom creep and that it cannot be used with FF bodies. Lastly, if i were to buy a 2nd hand lens with warranty remaining, will the lens be under warranty although its not registered under my name. Thanks! |

The beauty of Sony Alpha lenses, you can use it on all alpha camera body (you can even use it on old Minolta DSLR!). However, it depend on our skill to make the picture looks good!

16-80 would be better if use it on Crop Factor. 24-70 are just not wide enough on crop factor.

This is one lens that I would never sell.
It was the best walkabout lens I have with APS-C camera (in Sony line-up, excluding Minolta lenses). It still is. When I bring my A700 out, I wouldn't bother to bring my 24-70, it is not wide enough and just too heavy unless I need a f/2.8 for low lighting. When shooting in outdoor with a great lighting, this lens performs very well.

For me it's normal
CZ1680 is one of hot items in Sony-KM BnS another two is beercan and KM 50mm f1.7 It'll benefit you who want to add CZ1680 into your collection (Oh man, that's cheap)

Focusing is a bit slow... slower than the kit lens, worse at bad lighting conditions.
But color and sharpness is really great!

My 16-80 (when I still had an A100 and A700) would focus much faster than the kit.

the CZ 16-80mm is a DT lens and in order for it to be used on a FF camera like the a900, you have to use the crop mode which makes the a900 shoot in 11MP rather than 24MP.
