(for Pentax?)
I'm wondering if you would care to share your impressions of it. |

I own the Tammy and really pleased with the IQ. It's not a good AF performer but still acceptable and the AF hunts really noisy. That's the only thing i can say since i use that lens occasionally. (It's damn heavy)...
Anyway, if you're not intend to shoot some kind of sport that needs fast AF, go ahead for the Tammy.. It's cheaper though..

Get the Sigma, image quality just as good as the Tammy. AF much faster.

No shop in Singapore has (either, or preferably both) of them in stock, I'd guess?

Can approach the new Tamron agent to bring it in. Definitely can get OP to get the Sigma because I was there when someone ordered one in Pentax mount.

Would you get one of these, or the 60-250/4? I have to decide that first. If i decide I want one of these, then I don't mind paying a (slight) premium buying it here rather than ordering, but I would want to compare the tamron to the sigma (well. basically, try the tamron to see how slow the focussing is, and if I think it's too slow/noisy just buy the sigma. haha.) Perhaps I should try to find one secondhand. Sigma is probably safer. hmm. |

Oh i think it's quite clear that the tamron has the better optical quality of the two, but for a lens like that focus speed is somewhat important (well, unless it's just for posed portraits), and since Pentax isn't all that fast to begin with...
