any one here have any ideal where can i get it ?<=dun mind 2rd hand. i thinking should i get canon hv-30 or Panasonic PV-GS300? understand that gs-300 is a auto type of camcorder where hv-30 can be manual, and hv-30 give hd, but just only that the price can have such a big gap? lens, can someone tell me how did the lens work? as in how do i know its a good len by looking at the spec Optical Sensor Size, the higher the better or what ? because some is 1/6 and some is 1/2.7" what is that mean ? |

Hi,
You're right. I cannot find the HV30 in the major stores (Courts, Best Denki etc). I'm wondering abt that myself. Could it be they're pushing for single format for HD camcorder, meaning AVCHD? I bought mine from B&H, total, including delivery around S$1000.It includes No warranty (US warranty), keeping my fingers crossed nothing happens. I already owned a NV-GS120, so basically its an 'upgrade'. As I recently found out, shooting in NTSC indoors may result in 'flickering' picture cause by fluorescent light. Results may vary. For converting to PAL, I don't really bother with it. Most tvs and dvd players go multi-system years ago.. |

It takes a week for the camcorder to get from US to SIN. I had faith that B&H and UPS will get my camcorder to SIN safe and sound.
I know it's risky, but, (touch wood), with my previous camcorder (NV-GS120), I never had to call for warranty. As long as I can recall, I haven't had to sent anything electronic for service within the warranty period, or even after it. So I weigh the pros and cons and decided to go for it. Heck, I'm even using a replacement battery/charger bought from Ebay.(Touch wood...) |

I bought my HV30 from Alan Photo at SLS. Have you tried there? The price is at least $200 better than Courts or Best Denki.
