Hi all,
My E-510 now got red dots/white dots on the photos (previously I did not see them). Anybody encountered this before, is it because of the hot sensor or smthing? Actually I never take a shot with too long exposure ![]() Thanks for help |

Here's one of the photo. You can click on the photo and view at fullsize to see 2 red dots near the middle of the photo and one bright dot to the top right. There're some more having the same problem.
![]() Any chance that I should send in for service? Thanks ![]() Last edited by SeineRiver; 20th April 2009 at 11:35 PM. |

i suggest you try doing a pixel mapping as suggested by Benares. looks like hot pixels. are the spots always at the same place or is it randomly distributed?
i noticed that your shutter speed was at 1sec, wrotniak did an article on hot pixels on the E510. the Noise Reduction function only kicks in at shutter speeds slower than 8 secs. so even if you have the NR on, it will not work for slow shutter speeds faster than 8 secs and thus the reason why the hot pixels will persist even if you have done pixel mapping. you can read the full article here: http://www.wrotniak.net/photo/43/e510-dark.html

Thank all
I'll try the pixel mapping. My camera is 1 year 4 months old, the spots always at the same place, red ones are always red and bright ones are always bright, that's why I did not think that it was because of noise. |

these are hot pixel...it will still there after pixel mapping, all u need to do is just set the noise reduction ON if u shoot longer than 4s onward
