LCD Screen Blacked out

Guys,

My missus's Lumix FX3 has blacked out 99%, only 1% left can see something dimly.

Is it worth repairing? This camera is 3 years old, usely during travelling only? Is this a norm for Panasonic cameras?

Whereas i am using FZ3, already 4 years, still in good shape, used much more heavily than my missus's Lumix FX3.
