Default Pentax Image Sensor Cleaning Kit

Anyone know where to this kit other than buy from online store like Adorama?
and like to to how easy to use this and how effective this cleaning kit. Did Pentax service center also use the same tool for cleaning sensor?

If locally, don't think any of the shop sells it. Not sure about others, I find it is easy to use and effective. Hardly use it after i changed to K20D.

The coating on the sensor is better on K20D, dust does not stick to it easily. So far, when there are dusts on the sensor, only use a blower to blow off.

Exactly the same experience here Now I use that kit to clean lenses (sticky dust spot) instead of sensor

I also used on my lenses but have mixed experience. It works pretty well on the DA's with the SP coating but it tends to leave residue on the FA lenses. So, avoid using it on the FA lenses.

I'm not sure, but I think Kelvin of Shriro once told me that I shouldn't use that cleaning kit on a K10D because the sensor has something different on it compared to the *istDS sensors.

My suggestion is: don't ever touch the glass on those FA lenses including FA limiteds and FA stars Otherwise you'd probably end up w/ an even messier glass element ...

Diluted IPA with Pro-pec Lens tissue works pretty well. Makes the glass as good as new. The glass itself is pretty hardy I would say but not quite resistant to stains and dust.

the kit is easy to use, i have it, but i must say i still prefer using blower + wet cleaning, much faster, and less prone to carelessness problems after you get over the fear factor.

This is interesting and new. I always thought using the cleaning stick’s gel-kinda head to stick out the dust is safer compared to any wet cleaning on sensor.

i use photographic solutions sensor swab and e2 solution

but after a while i switched to using e2 solution with good quality cotton buds

does the job the same way, at a fraction of the price. just have to make sure the cotton buds have no loose threads, by blowing vigorously before applying the solution to tip.

have cleaned many people's sensors for them the same way also.. but of course not everyone is willing to take the risk, so at your own risk!

I have both bodies mentioned. When I broght in the K10D for servicing last time, I had asked if they sold the kit. It was then that Kelvin mentioned that. Anyone else heard something like that?

Same here , pecpad is the best way for me, but the cleaning kit is the easiest way to clean it.

@Frank
Can you conduct a small seminar on how to clean the lens (not internally) so we know how to properly perform it the Pentaxian way. , Thanks
