Has anyone tried this particular lens on before?
How's the AF performance and image quality throughout the range? And to Canon users, how's it compared to Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 IS L? Would appreciate if any mates here can provide some reviews on it. Thanks! ![]()

You can also opt for the Sigma 150-500mm APO OS, the stablizer allows you to take a pic with 1/125 unsupported at long end. But you should know they are both very very heavy lens.

But would like to look into 50-500 as another option to consider since I could get 'em at pretty close price. ![]()

Tried a friend's copy some weeks back.
- Great value for the price! (He got it at ard SGD1.2-1.4K in HK IIRC, tk foto quote me 2k!!) - Excellent reach! especially when use on a crop sensor. - Quite light for lenses of such focal length - AF is pretty decent in good daylight, slightly sluggish on cloudy day but still decent - No OS though, hence handheld might not be very viable - Never use Canon 100-400 before though.... but i can safely assume it will certainly be better than BIGMA...you can google for sample images... ![]()

For the AF, ain't the RF suppose to make it faster? Seems that HSM didn't gave it much of a boost or the AF went hunting in low-light condition huh? ![]()

Hmmm.. I always thought this Sigma 50-500mm f/4-6.3 EX DG HSM APO RF is the Bigma..
Clearly I was way too slow to catch up with the changes. Whats the difference ?? thanks

I'm a Nikon user and bought the Bigma for the 2008 Singapore Airshow, $1500 from Orient Photo.
Great lens and it was cloudy during the airshow and I didn't have any blurry photos, used it for all the aerial shows, handheld. ![]() ![]() ![]() More photos in my Flickr album. http://www.flickr.com/photos/xtemuji...7603849313451/

That's quite a markup of $500 from the price I bought last year.

Yeah, CP quoted me $2076. I'm getting mine from elsewhere.

I didn't go for the Singapore F1 as I prefer to shot fast aircraft than fast car.

xtemujin, do you apply gaffer tape onto your 50-500mm?
Wonder if gaffer tape will cause any peeling after attempting to remove it.
