Saw malkw's post on the Olive-backed Sunbird.... it was simply stunning.
I took some sunbird photos of my own but it seems to people that the photo is oversharpened that the colours are unnatural. I'm wondering what went wrong with my PS and hope that you guys can give some helpful comments/hints to help me improve. Thanks guys! PS: Sorry for the large file sizes and the slow download, it's hosted from my maxonline 1500 cable connection.... Took this on Sat, 01 Nov 03, with my s602z. iso160, 210mm, 1/400, f4.0, internal flash. ![]() My workflow is 1. Filter with neatimage using s602z iso160 noise profile available on neatimage's website. 2. Did some sharpening using Duplicate Layer/Overlay/High Pass Filter/Gausian Blur method. 3. Adjusted the levels and curves on the filtered layer. 4. Did some slight Unsharp Mask on the filtered layer. 5. Cropped the photo. The original untouched photo is here. ![]() |

i think due to the heavy cropping, you can't expect much. the fact that you used a ordinary digicam to photograph the bird is a big achievement already
