Sony has similar product for alpha cameras.
Magnifier (FDA-M1AM) Designed for use with the 100 DSLR camera, this magnifier is perfect for close-up and macro photography. By enlarging the viewfinder image by approximately 2.3 times, it lets you get a fuller and much more detailed view of your subject. $99 |

If you like to shoot hand-held, there is something to take note of if you've never used
anything like it. Whilst it's "zoomed in" for focusing, you'll not be able to compose your shots properly cos you can't see what's happening at the sides. I have the FDA-M1AM, it allows you to flip up to check composition or flip down to check focus. There is a problem tho, we tend to move a little here and there. When you think your composition is good then you flip down for focus your composition may be a little off simply cos you've moved a little off in between what you're doing. Another problem would be if your subject is placed at the sides since only the central part is magnified. ![]() |
