Cool ! Yep, I weren't used to it when I do RAW on CS3 the first time, but now, it's like an everyday thing .

How about Labour Day for a real TCSS then I push the Ubin trip to the Sunday instead?

I have a good place for it. It's near Newton btw. Heard of Decoders' Cafe?

Hmm... Sound good, but I think I can only go for one of the days. Either lim kopi session or Ubin SSS.

Since you had already registered for the Ubin trip then stay as it is. There's always more opportunities for TCSS. Hehe!

The Ubin/Chek Jawa SSS outing sounds tempting. Will need to plan my experiments and see if I can make it.

Can keep on dreaming... but it does appear to have loads more detail than the 5dMkII one(s).

Then, I confirm cannot make it.

On another note, I'm on the verge of pulling the trigger on a 2nd hand 10-22. Seller says it is 1.5 yrs old but he has an un-filled warranty. It would be "cheating" if I submit online right?

Canon supply chain system is quite integrated. Once the shop sells a particular lens, the barcode is uploaded into canon database after which. You can try submitting at a date earlier than the purchased date, it will not work. Similarly in this case, try posting purchased date 6 months ago, it will not work.

More importantly, check the physical, shutter count, lens day and night shoots. Make sure got distortion, vignetting etc.

The lens is considered no longer under warranty. Warranty card un-filled is bullshyt and it's just some tactics used to up the selling price.

Seller says it is condition 10. Also giving 1 month personal warranty. Should be ok right?
I know how to check for basic stuff, but have never actually seen a "bad" lens (have only "tested" my own lenses).

Unfilled warranty never works. Even some stores, ask you not to fill the warranty. But you need a receipt at CSC to do service.

Most importantly, check the focusing. Back and front focusing issues.

And since it's 10/10, optics should be clean. Open up both front and back caps and point the lens towards some lighting and look thru it to check for dust and etc.

when buying a lens, do check the below in order of importance:
    1. glass coating MUST not peel off
    2. fungus on glass
    3. scratches on glass
    4. front / back focusing
    5. dust

for 1,2 &3, it will be expensive if u intend to repair or want to fix back to the original condition. #4 & 5 are minor issues, where front/back focus can be fix with a trip to CSC. dust will not hv negative impact to your final photos.

    Thanks.
As mentioned, I know these. Have tested a few times on my own lenses. But have no idea how a "bad" lens will behave/look like. So, not really sure what "threshold" there is for focusing/cleanliness.

Nonetheless, I'll play around with my lenses to make sure I'm testing properly before I go and make a fool of myself this weekend.

Wow man I look so cool, lol.
Rinsing for 30 more minutes for the SBG shoots, hopefully I didn't get accidental double exposures again ...

P.S. : Just did a possibly defective trade my 9+ condition R2A for 7+ R3M. The R3M has a slanted viewfinder and a possibly defective shutter release .. it sometimes goes off randomly. Oh well, I love live size 1.00x magnification, black paint and the box! (actually I like the box the most).

P.S.2. : Oi Benghui! Look at what the hazy Leica do!

(Exclude the white scratches lines, those are dust on the FILM. Not caused by the hazy Leica lens)

Awesome bokeh, I bet it would look terrific in colour!

    Bokehhhhh!

    P.S.3 : Finally posted!
