Default Access to functions of G10 while in underwater housing

So as not to hijack other threads, I thought I'd ask this one, that doesn't seem to be mentioned anywhere else.

I bought a G10 and the Canon housing recently, only to realise that some of the functions for the camera cannot be accessed when it is inside the housing - for example, switching from evaluative matrix to centre-weighted to spot requires the dial around the "set" button to be turned. Similarly, if you are using aperture priority, you can't change aperture, since that is again controlled by the dial.

How do people get around this? Are there a sequence of buttons I can use? The only thing I can think of at this point is the use the C1 and C2 modes.

Cheers, Jeff

Hi there,

to access the dial, simply press the "Shortcut" button (at the left side, the one with the "S" and an arrow) and then press the directional buttons to "activate the functions of the dial". the dial does not move in actual fact.

hope this helps!

i think the manual of the canon housing has a section on how to overcome the lack of functionality of the dial. hope you haven't thrown it away!
