Hi Darcy,

Do you have details on what is the scope of lens cleaning service? I am wondering if it's only cleaning the front and rear element to be free from stubborn dust or also any dust inside the barrel.

Sorry i am not sure. I went to clean my ccd. They actually refer to this page:

http://www.sony.com.sg/support/resou...es/Visual.html

The staff there said the rate is not fixed, it depends on the condition of the lens of cam (for repairing or cleaning)...

2a) Digital SLR Camera Lens Repair: s$80
2b) Lens cleaning: s$60
2c) Lens Alignment (FF/BF/etc): NOT mention

3a) Sensor cleaning for DSLR: NOT mention but someone mention s$10?
3b) View finder (internal) cleaning for DSLR: NOT mention

Can see that the FF bodies cost a lot to repair i.e. over 2x.

Still wonder if the lens cleaning includes the internals or just front/back elements and exterior which can easily be done somehow.

en only for sensor cleaning... i dun't care about the grip. it have been replaced once when the cam is still under warranty. the shutter also been replaced once when under warranty....

only problem is the sensor, cannot blow the dust this time so have to sent in for cleaning. the technician said there is no "100% clean" service............................

They called me this morning to collect. i will drop by this sat and see how much they charge finally.

i second this... but when sent in the cam for cleaning when under warranty, the shown service fee is always 10.7, although dun need to pay.

in this case the $80 labour charge will only be imposed if there is a parts change then.

OOT abit, how do they determine if the grip needs to be replaced?? thinking of sending in the cam for cleaning & internal checks when warranty is ending
