Hi Darcy,
Do you have details on what is the scope of lens cleaning service? I am wondering if it's only cleaning the front and rear element to be free from stubborn dust or also any dust inside the barrel.

http://www.sony.com.sg/support/resou...es/Visual.html The staff there said the rate is not fixed, it depends on the condition of the lens of cam (for repairing or cleaning)... ![]()

My view from http://www.sony.com.sg/support/resou...es/Visual.html
Labour Service Charges: 1a)- For DSLR Cameras (A100, A200, A300, A350, A700 only) s$80 1b)- For DSLR Cameras (DSLR-A900 onwards with full frame size model) s$180 2a) Digital SLR Camera Lens Repair: s$80 2b) Lens cleaning: s$60 2c) Lens Alignment (FF/BF/etc): NOT mention 3a) Sensor cleaning for DSLR: NOT mention but someone mention s$10? 3b) View finder (internal) cleaning for DSLR: NOT mention 3c) DSLR body Alignment (FF/BF/etc): NOT mention 4) Part cost if any part(s) is replaced. To be determine by Sony Service Engineer Note: All above subject to 7% GST. |

Can see that the FF bodies cost a lot to repair i.e. over 2x.
Still wonder if the lens cleaning includes the internals or just front/back elements and exterior which can easily be done somehow.

Just got the call from sony, sensor cleaning costs S$43. Dunno how this comes out...
The technician also told me that the rubber grip for the body is a bit loose. Replace the grip + sensor cleaning = S$ 158......
