    looking at the picture you posted, i'd say it's a dog and not a hyena. the back of the animal is very straight or level with the horizontal. hyenas front legs are longer than their rear legs, hence their backs slope towards the rear end.

    at any rate, the animal should be reported to the proper authorities for removal seeing as to how close it is to residential properties.
