Default bulb mode

Hi, I have a newbie question regarding the bulb mode in A200. Will the camera display the time exposed like a stopwatch on its lcd if I am shooting in bulb mode with a cable release? My previous camera(400d) does show the time so I hope to find this out before I buy the cable release. Thanks!

hmm... not that i know of. for example, the LCD will cause stray light into the viewfinder somehow. your previous 400d shows the countdown on the top LCD?
There are 3rd party remote for alpha that have a lcd display

Oh..then in this case the only way is to use a stopwatch or remote with lcd? Yea in the 400d, the back lcd will show the timing on the bottom right(white numbers) with the rest of lcd screen black..

Nope no such timer screen... very interesting that the 400D has such a function... definitely very useful... might even be a first in the world for Canon... why can't all manufacturers use their common sense?

Hi,

I saw this remote with the countdown from ebay. You can consider checking it out.
