Default The best sling bag

Hi all,

Which bag is the best bag in your opinion? Since the Olympus system is renowned for its small and lightweight, I am thinking of getting a small, not backpack, bag that can carry these items;
  1. An E3 with Batt Grip
  2. 12-60 SWD (mounted on the E3)
  3. 50-200 SWD
  4. FL-50R
  5. and maybe either a wide angle/macro/70-300 lenses.

Name me the code as well, not just brand.

Is it Domke? Tamrac? LowePro? Crumpler? Billingham?Vanguard?

The bag not only needs to be light, but also have a minimal weatherproofing as well.

Thanks a lot Olympians, Nikonians, Canonians and hmm..Pentaxman?

if your looking for a domke bag...i would recommend domke F2....it gonna set you back about $280/- at CP.....its a good, durable bag with easy to reach method in cases when u need to reach for anything inside your bag(changing of lens.etc)...my 10 cents worth..

Hey..this is great. Thanks guys.

How about Crumplers? Any one using Crumplers? Like the 5 mil maybe? I just dont know about them (living in cave ba ) It Crumpler ok? I know its not as obvious as a camera bag but it doesnt scream 'im humble' as well with THAT Crumpler brand/color .

No slings to add guys? got tired of backpacks and bags actually.

Still waiting for the best sling bag..my bday coming up, maybe i should 'point' my lips to the lucky bag, should i go shopping with the missus

I think the 5 mil crumpler will be too small for your gear. Not even the 6 mil. An E-3 with grip plus the 3 lenses and the fl-50r -- 7 mil is your best bet.

although I personally like the lowepro. try the D300AW for those set of gear you mentioned.

Hi there,

I'm an E-3 user myself. And do you intend to bring everything out everytime you go shooting? If you are perhaps about maybe 2 lense and 1 flash, you may consider the Lowepro Inverse 200 AW. Cathay Photo is having sales on Lowepro bags, you can go down and have a look. If you don't really bring that much equip when you go shooting you may even consider the smaller size one, can't remember the model no. but the design is exactly the same as the Inverse 200 AW. And if you are colour fancy these range of bags come in different colours.

However, if you bring all your equip out everytime you go shooting, it may be wiser to get a backpack. It's most convienent at the same time. Get the Olympus E-system backpack I tink it's limited ed.

Cowz.

The Domke F2 is my preferred choice.. and contrary to popular belief the inside remains PERFECTLY dry even in a downpour. Fits all the its you want.. and its got a nice look to it. Granted it is a bit more expenisive... but it'll last a lifetime... The price is around 250...

I use a lowepro slingshot 200 but I use that much smaller E-330 a fren who uses the E-3, uses the Lowepro's Slingshot 300 and I think he carries the same amount of stuff as you do. Let me get him here to give his comments.

I think u miss out some word, what is lowepro AW300?

TS, I have similar setup as you, I am using Think tank Urban disguise 35, can use as backpack if you purchase shoulder harness. otherwise, it is a shoulder bag.

or Domke F2 or billingham is oso a good choice if u just looking for shoulder bag.

KATA, or Think Tank. Nothing else at the moment for me.
Crumpler only for their backpacks, but you will have to live with weight...

I'm using a Stein Zeiser sling bag (quite a big one) for my photography.
I bought it in Peninsular Plaza for $60.

I can store these lenses:
ZD 14-42mm F3.5-5.6
ZD 40-150mm F3.5-4.5
ZD 70-300mm F4.0-5.6 Macro

On top of that I can store a FL-36 flashlight with an E-510 body.

Hope that this can help.

Thanks for coming over. You forgot to mention E-3, With or without that 12-60 and grip attached?

I forgot also to mention what's in my sling. E-330, attach with 14-150, 11-22, 105, 25 and FL20. The top pouch was my rain jacket. Cokin hung on the outside.

since everyone typing out what is in their bag,I'll join in,my bag contains E-1,14-54,50-200,50 and FL-50R,still have space for one more body or 2 more lens, depends on what I'm shooting for that day, that space will differ,i carry a blower and my OM->4/3 mount with spare batteries and it's not even half full yet,but that's what i need so i'm leaving it at that
