Default From Cali!

Hello all! I am new to this site(of course!) and to the world of DSLR Photography.
I will be posting pics soon, but I have a question, Is F/5.6 to slow of a lens? I will have the oppertunity to shot a Drag Race here in a couple of weeks, and I am looking at getting a long lens w/ this aperature, HELP!!!!!!!!!

first query, is the drag race in the day? If so, then you should be able to capture it with good shutter speeds if you have good lighting

With gd lighting, it shld pose any problem..

Welcome! For the lens available, might help to practice panning technique.

How much depends on how close you can get to the action, the further you are, the less noticeable the blur would be.

Hello...welcome.
As mentioned by the bros earlier, it shouldn't be a problem if it's in the day, just bump your ISO if need be.
