Default Tamron SP AF 17- 50mm f2.8 XR Di II LD

I'd need some help in this lens.

I'm currently selling this lens and there are a lot of queries if this lens has a motor on it which I'm not sure of.. Can any1 advice me on this?

It would appear to be with a built-in motor.

See "D40/D40X/D60 - Fully Compatible AF-Lenses" - as this series of cameras need built-in motor to function, and your lens is listed here.

Also Tamron USA website under specification tab shows BIM for Nikon mount.

But ask your buyer to bring camera to check it out, if it AF with D40/D40x/D60 it has built-in motor.

Doing this in good faith. I do not have or know about this lens.

If you have the box, it is indicated as a red bubble: "New Built in Motor".

Otherwise, if you know how to read lensID in EXIF:

'00 53 2B 50 24 24 00 06' = Tamron SP AF 17-50mm f/2.8 XR Di II LD Aspherical (IF) (A16)
'00 54 2B 50 24 24 00 06' = Tamron SP AF 17-50mm f/2.8 XR Di II LD Aspherical [IF] (A16NII)

I've the non-motor A16N of the Tamron, there's no AF/MF switch.

AF MF Switch
Besides made in Japan, you can also see a AF MF switch on the new A16N II version. You can have the camera body in AF all the time, and changing the AF MF on the lens will allow you to focus manually or automatically.
