Default Paper Reccomendations

Hi guys, I am planning to publish my own portfolio (photographs and graphics) book by printing and binding it at home. Do you guys have any recommendation of the papers that I can use? I am looking at definately a double sided matte paper, that is probably slightly thick to give a more expensive feel. I would reckon 150-170gsm thereabouts. I have tried using Canon Matte Paper Pro, it has really the texture and the feel I want, but its abit too expensive (as I am printing alot of pages) and it is single sided. Does anyone has any recommendations? Just to let you guys know, I am not particular about the brand, so keep your stuff coming!

hi lordpain, you mentioned about you planning to bind the book at home. Just curious , may I ask are you going to bind the book using those plastic ring binder like in those done in the stationery/bookstore?

yes, that is why I was asking. So have you try to book bind by sewing before. Or will this be your first time? Gosh this is interesting. I am reading up on the book binding too as I wanted to do some binding of the material I printed. Though they do not need any professional binding but I sure like to hold it like a normal book when reading. The feel when holding a normal book binding and those plastic binding done by bookstore is totally different. But I don't think I will have the patient to cut the paper into half since I don't have paper cutter.

Sure would like to see your end result after you are done. Good luck.
