Default How should I draft this letter?

I was tasked to come up with a poster for my poly (for which I have just graduated).

I've been updating changes, and doing up the poster, which is for a competition for secondary school students.

The thing is, my teacher asked me to write a letter so that it shows that it is my work. The senior management would sign it, of course.

I'm not really sure how to start.

    Appreciate all help given

    Dear Sir/Mdm,

You are a dumb twig, if you cannot see that this is my work.

    Proper grammer + politically correct:

    Dear Sir/Mdm,

You are an intellectually-challenged twig, if you cannot see that this is my work.

Actually, the signoff is wrong and sentence should be reordered:

    Dear Sir/Mdm,

If you cannot see that this is my work, you are a dumb twig,

    Yours faithfully,

What is the purpose of writing such a letter?

1)Is it for the school to acknowledge that that is your work?

2)For u to prove to whoever involved in the competition that that is indeed your work?

3)Is this letter to be used as some form of contract/undertaking with the institution mention above, clearly stating that you authorized them to use such a piece of your works and that u might/might not retain copyrights to the piece of work involved? And if so, what are the penalty for breaching the clauses in there?
