If you just want to protect the camera, there's someone selling DSLR body pouches in the Mass Order forum.

I say the lens is the soul of a camera. What about the body? Well, it's just the body...

yes, op and cathay will have neoprene camera wraps.

you can also use them for lenses.

me, i prefer using a camera bag, or just koping the camera insert from camera bag and use in normal bag, also can. camera wrap so ley chey, must wrap and unwrap.

Depend on the size of your lens...

I'd dump that D1 i still use once in a while in my backpack, along with a 16-85.
    Certainly not the D700...
However for my leica there's a special leather case where you can even leave the lens attached... max length is 90mm.
    It's way more convenient.

I have this Akarui sling bag which is pretty small and boxy, got it free when i bought my Olympus SP570UZ, though small it can fit my 12-60mm wide-angle and my e-3 body (dismantled of course). I'd pack it and secure it to the side of my backpack. Possible method to use, but provided you secure the bag well (You don't want percious money dropping off).

    Cowz.
