Default Maldives Mantas

Finally found some time to post up some photos from my recent trip to Maldives in March. Only posted 9 so far, but hope to do more soon. Im doing them by theme and started with my Maldivian fave - Mantas!

Manta with tag-along blue fin trevally.

Love the motion of the fins, almost wished I had a video camera. Almost...

Sometimes even 10mm isnt enough.

We got very lucky with the visibility. Not crystal clear, but better than normal for this dive site.

Look familiar? I love this pose.

Just as we leave to make our ascent, a curious manta gives our local DM a private fly-by.

I think Mantas lend themselves well to B&W photography... so here goes...

All in formation.... no its not a noisy and soft photo... B&W is meant to be like that... isnt it?

10mm rules!

Nicely behaved, Mantas line up single file for their cleaning.

Hope you like those. Will have some other photos posted up next week, i hope.

I personally prefer the traquil blue colors. I feel BW don't somehow do justice.

Very, very breathtaking pictures you took!

Thanks! Yeah you should. Although i always want to check out new places, i keep going back to maldives, because if you do a math, a maldavian live on board is good value.

Yeah, I agree, but sometimes I like the B&W look, its just that maybe im not very good at converting to B&W. Need more practice.

Oh? 5D mark II video must manually focus? I didnt know that. that would be tuff then. Ok, wait for mark III. Maybe i can afford it then.
