have enough fun liao. back to the topic.

    1) Is there market to have Singapore's own Ninja Warrior?

    2) Will there be enough participants? It is a very tough course.

    3) Will it be a one off show, or there is market to keep it going?

Yes to 1 and 2 - following on Sir Tupi's - call it Lion Warrior!!!

Point 3 - how good is the marketing, how good is the show creativity?

Look at bad reality TV shows vs good reality TV shows. What will sell?

was chatting with tupi in msn

i feel singapore wants to be safe and they focus alot on return, tangible

as such, they may not want to step out of their comfort zone.

but in doing so, the quality will be stagnent, sooner or later, people gets bored, like the celebrities sport show which is total screw up.

But that is somethign we all know.

It's not like it's life-changing news you found out Dennis.

It's the way things are here, and as long as people aren't willing to change themselves, nothing outside will change ... unless someone big wants it to. Then we would have to ask, "Why, and to what extent and at WHOSE cost?"

creativity is not enough, but that could also be a result of not wanting venture into the unknown.

look at low cost show, Mr Bean, also back in the olden days, Mind ur language and Allo Allo, Black Ader. they are classics that still brings laughters. given similar budget, what are the chances of us coming out with such classic?

we had one last time for chinese in channel 8, similar to Mind ur language, but it is still no where near it.

    so sad.

    Something someone was mentioning ...

    1 or 2 years of pre-school.

    6 years of primary school.

4 or 5 years of secondary school.

    2 or 3 years of pre-college.

That's a total of 13 - 16 years of being programed and conditioned to see, think and function in a certain way.

Then all of a sudden it's gets 'politically correct' and students are encouraged to think 'out-of-the-box' at college.

Do you think the typical human mind can switch all of a sudden and think creatively, or even actually 'think' for that matter?

There's a difference between really thinking and merely using a brain to perform very ingrained and programmed rote* tasks.

    * Rote learning is a learning technique which avoids understanding of a subject and instead focuses on memorization. The major practice involved in rote learning is learning by repetition. The idea is that one will be able to quickly recall the meaning of the material the more one repeats it.

Rote learning is widely used in the mastery of foundational knowledge. Examples include, phonics in reading, the periodic table in chemistry, multiplication tables in mathematics, anatomy in medicine, cases or statutes in law, basic formulas in any science, etc. Rote learning, by definition, eschews comprehension, however, and consequently, it is an ineffective tool in mastering any complex subject at an advanced level. However, rote learning is still useful in passing exams. If exam papers are not well designed, it is possible for someone with good memorization techniques to pass the test without any meaningful comprehension of the subject.

    1) will there be enough strong and gungho people to take part? definitely got market for the audience side, but competitiors hard to say la..

    2) exactly my point in 1)

    3) i think one-off. cus singapore may not be creative enoguh to make season 2 different from season 1. build new obstacles = expensive.

Well, if there's one it's good, if there isn't we have already live without it for so long. But, maybe if got, then mediacorp wouldn't be mediacrap.
