E-3!?
Care to share which tripod you are using for your E-3? I'm 1.83m tall and cannot figure out which tripod and head would work best for my height and E-3. Thanks. |

... you have a 3 way head! To the TS : I am using a Manfrotto 190 (whatever it is now in its latest version), black aluminum with a heavy duty ball head. Cheap and reliable and good.

Whatever tripod people suggest you should TRY before buying...make sure that it can support your camera with heaviest lens you intend on using on it, make sure it's good for your height, and that it's not too heavy for the time you wish to carry it...if it doesn't meet that criteria, you aren't going to use it. Personally I own two (that use the same bracket)...one is for studio use, while the other lighter one is for carrying around the city.
Also think of a tripod as a long term investment...cameras may come and go but the same tripod can be used for any of them. |

3 way pan= middle speed, accurate . ballhead= fast speed, not as accurate Gear Head= Slow speed but very accurate. Manfrotto does produce good tripod, end of the day, it really depend on what TS shooting style and which kind of tripod suit his need best.

Im using Gitzo Explorer GT2932EX Basalt Tripod with arcaswiss monoball Z1 ballhead. The tripod is more for macro lovers as the center column tilts and rotates freely to any position. Someone recommended me this tripod and say u buy, i buy. But when i jump, he say bye bye. Zzzzzzzzz

hehe. understand bro. no joke no fun.
There is alot of setup depending very much on the budget. Brands like Gitzo n Manfrotto makes good tripod. I believe spend 1 time use for life provided i dont break it, so I go for Gitzo tripod and Arcaswiss ballhead. Oh not to forget my goodfriend i jump u jump fetch me the best deal on the arcaswiss ballhead. Thank you for that bro. |

Is there no love for the Benro users here? haha...
I mostly use my Gitzo too... BUT i do have a Benro A-500 with the KB-01 Ballhead.. (Which came together with it..) Which i have used quite often with a E-3 + Handgrip + 150mm/90-250mm... Did quite a good job actually... I'm around 1.82.. and the height is pretty nice and the stability is quite good... (Especially for its price...) So i guess if you are in a tight budget.. you could consider a Benro... (But obviously the Gitzo does an awesome job... and for the price I paid... IT BETTER DO AN AWESOME JOB!) |
