Did you use bounce flash or diffuse flash? I am quite curious because I like the look of cats' eyes at night but have not successfully captured a decent shot yet

My guess is most probably not using flash directly on the cat. Else sure spook it with the strong sudden light source. shadow casted seems like light source from the top or side not in the direction of the cam. might be hand held remote triggered or something. don't seemed like bounced from celling to me either

Method of execution:
Well.. I coax the cat ever so patiently.. stroking and stroking it till it's comfortable with me.. than i talk to it and tell it it's cute sexy whatever.. than I snap it.. Hmm.. I tried to bounce flash however I did it in the open so most of the shots I used with the flash shooting into the air with the light falling naturally onto her. Quite tough and gets a bad harsh flash.. Oh well... |

Wao there's a ceiling above you, so its the classical method of bounced flash.
So you coaxed her into letting you flash for her ![]() Last edited by liarliar; 9th April 2009 at 10:41 PM. |

no ceiling.. open air. I just shot the flash upwards and captured the image with whatever available light that fell onto her.
