My fav is Yodobashi Camera. There's also Bic Camera. Maybe not the best prices but convenient for me. Yodobashi have a web page u can view. Overseas credit card clearance is real long if u buy more ex items. I stood almost half hr for them to call and verify my details.

The YEN is very strong now, which explains why prices in Singapore keeps going up. Probably not a good time to buy anything in Japan now.

I just came back from Tokyo yesterday. Its very nice cherry blossom. Hope you can make it for the cherry blossom, cause the flower starting to drop since Monday.
As many say the Yen now are high, and lens there are not cheap if you convert. I check few shop in Shinjuku, Shibuya, Akihabara, and many other area. its pretty expensive. Hope you are luck to find few shop that give discount. Just for comparison, the Tamron 18-50 lense its 10% more expensive in Tokyo now. (using RM to Yen conversion) |

Yodobashi is convenient but can be quite expensive. There are many shops in Akiabara area where you can also find some used camera goods shops. This area tends to focus on foreigners so usually shops display marked-up prices with room for bargaining. Would be helpful if a local, knowledgeable friend could help you out. All the best!

Map Camera in Shinjuku is great. Not sure if they have Minolta products.
To me Yodobashi is fun to shop at but not good to buy. Kind of like browsing at Best Denki :-)
