I do not have either but what I can tell you is the two lens are meant for different purpose. One is fisheye and the other is not. 16-35 is wide, but not as wide as the 10mm fish. So it depends on your need. For most people, the 16-35 range will be used more often as compared to10mm.

16-35 is meant for FF, which is actually UWA for FF.
It should be much sharper than sigma though. |

AFAIK, Sigma 10mm fisheye is design for APS-C camera, so it can achieve 180' view.
CZ 16-35, is design for FF camera. If you use it on APS-C camera, you can only get maximum 83' view. I am not very sure how to compare these 2 lens. ![]() Last edited by lenrek; 6th April 2009 at 07:46 PM. |

Just picked up the Sigma 10mm F2.8 today. You have to order it as Sigma Marketing does not carry stock...and therefore non of the dealers carry stock. Luckily one of the Sigma guys was in Japan and he personally brought it back with him...which saved me 3-4 weeks of waiting time.
There isn't a whole lot of info on the Sigma 10mm. One of my questions before i got this lens was what the angle of view is for Sony Alpha mount. This is because the Sigma website states 180 degree for Nikon and 167 degrees for Nikon but remaining silent on Sony. After trying it out with my A700 this evening, i believe with Sony APSC it is also a 180 degree angle of view. ![]() The Sony 16mm doesn't quite work for us APSC guys...so 10mm is the only way to go for UWA or fisheye. The Sigma 10mm whilst being a fisheye is a diagonal fisheye which is different from the other fisheye which produces round images. If you're after UWA then stick to your Sony 11-18mm with the other option being the Sigma 10-20mm which has a new variant, incorporating HSM and with f3.5 compared to f4-5.6. I believe that one also on indent basis. So as far as comparing with the CZ16-35mm, its like comparing mangoes with durians. ![]() Last edited by doyc76; 7th April 2009 at 10:34 PM. |

The lens spec for Sigma Fisheye 10mm F2.8 can be found here:
http://www.dyxum.com/lenses/detail.asp?IDLens=482 So, I had thought it as 180' for quite sometime. |
