Default Conbination of Sony A200 and Sigma EF-530 DG ST help

Dear all, I a newbie here... need some help regarding the above combination, I notice that when i take pic with the flash light, i need to wait for a few sec for it to charge. Is there any settling to set continuous flash?

Thanks in advance

All flashes need to recharge due to the amount of power released.

The only way to lessen the time for recharging is to shoot with lower flash power.

I never used sigma before so I dunno if you can change it to manual mode.

But you should be able to adjust flash compensation via the body.

you can also reduce the recycling time by increasing the ISO. the higher the ISO, the lower the light the flash needs to output to expose the image.

Am looking around for an affordable alternative to the original Sony flash too. How's the performance of your Sigma flash ? Does it have any compatibility problem with your A200 ? Does it zoom with your Sigma lens ? Do you have other non-Sony/Sigma lens not listed that you have tried with the flash ?

the flash does come with a manual. There should be a control tab for High (Full Power) and Low (1/16th).

True.... but with all due respect, why use flash when you reduce the flah output the power and pushing up ISO to compensate?

The solution is (1) to use a 'better' set of battery (I have not idea what you are using) and (2) be patient and (3) ask yourself do you need to fire flashes rapidly in succession. You are going to kill the flash (by overheating it) if you keep firing it like a machine gun.
