Default Tamron SP AF 90 F2.5 macro

like to as a newbie question.

been trying to find out for hours online regarding this wonderful lens and if it would fit sony a300. i searched on ebay and apparently they have an adapt all mount to fit the tamron on to a sony dslr. would appreciate if anyone have any inputs into this combination.

like would it be able to auto focus or will it be manual?

TIA

why don't you look for one in alpha mount..
they have tamron 90 F2.5 in alpha mount too right? probably no longer in production, so have to resort to 2nd hand market..

alpha mount one should be able to AF..

Tamron 90mm f2.5 is in adaptall mount. This is a manual focus lens and adaptall mount meants that you would need an adaptor to convert the adaptall mount to Alpha mount. As macro photography usually requires manual focus since AF is too slow, it would be quite ok to get the adaptall mount version.

If you prefer the AF version the Tamron 90mm f2.8 Di version would be it but it will cost more.

I used to have an adaptall mount Tamron lens, though it was the 90mm/f2.8 version. Sold it off as it was underutilised.
When used together with the a300, I'd to set the top-left dial to 'M' mode. Before that, had to make sure in the menu settings, the control dial is set to shuttter speed, coz you cant use the dial to control the manual lens' aperture anyway.

I'd suggest just getting the 90mm f/2.8 AF lens.
