My 1st time using a Raynox and I experienced challenges in shooting moving objects as the ants is moving the dead grasshopper at quite a fast speed. Any advice or better methods in handling Raynox for Macro? C&C welcome. Thanks.

Typically when using the Raynox, we will not shoot moving insects as it is very difficult to get a manual focus on a moving subject. In this circumstance what you only do is to set your camera to focus in front of the ants and hopper and take the shot when the hopper comes into focus.
By the way, that should be the skin of the hopper after it has shedded it during the moulting process... Last edited by teebs; 5th April 2009 at 01:46 PM. |

Thanks for your advice. Will shoot stationary insects on my next try. Hope to achieve at least 50% standard of those great macro shots I seen from the professionals in the recent Lower Pierce Macro shoots outings.
