Warranty...

Hi all,

I am planning to get a tamron lense from HK and I wonder how the international warranty will work. My only worry is that I warranty (what happen it fail and how I can get the warranty support in SG?), really appreciate if someone could share some experience.

What lens u getting?

I have a SP AF 70-200mm F2.8 Di LD (IF) Macro (canon mount)
just wondering if you are interested. Got this lens from Melbourne around end Feb 2009.

Condition of lens in very (mint) good condition.
Everything with the box

will also comes with hoya filter.

Willing to let go at $1100(negotiable)

For Sg purchased Tamron, they will give 3 years local warranty automatically. However, if you want to obtain the 1 yr international warranty (say you are moving to other country), Tamron Sg will change the the remaining warranty you have to the 1 yr international warranty (provided you warranty left at least one year)

I do not know how it works for HK. Ask before purchased? Email the Tamron HK distributor before buying?
Another suggestion: check the price in Sg 1st before going to HK. Sometimes, it is almost the same price. If I'm going to buy at HK, I'll only consider if it is at least 10 percent or SGD100 different...

got my Tamron AF 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC LD from HK in Mar 09. Local warranty is 3 yrs, international is 1 yr. After u buy the lens call the HK Tamron office, they will send the International warranty card to your s'pore address. or if you time u can go to the office and pick it up. Go to the Tamron HK website to look for the address and tel no.

The shop actually tell me the local 3 years warrenty still stand, wonder is it true?

With the good exchange rate and cheaper price in HK, I save more than S$100 for the lens

I bought in SG at the end, with current promo (18-270mm - $50 shopping voucher) from Jel. If compare buying in HK the difference will be less than $100.

I get it from MS Color at 930. Call them up, I remember I only saw few more left for Canon mount.

Just curious... Will they be able to convert an aussie warranty into international warranty or local here?
