Default Electric Blue

Finally found this blue beetle again after about 3yrs, and also at SBG. The location of this beetle was about the same place when I took it the first time in Nov 04. Here.

Nice hairy blue texture.

FZ30+Raynox 250, F11, 1/30s, 2 diffuse flash, ISO80, handheld

Interesting beetle
Still amazed at how the DOF is so good at F11, and you managed this at 1/30sec!

Some of the images above are stacked. But generally speaking, yes, PNS cameras has more DOF vs DSLR due to their small sensor.

1/30s is my default shutter in A mode. If too shaky, I will use M mode. The inbuilt lens stabilisation helps in handholding!

Cos its always flying around! Saw it last week, but only for a moment before it flew. This time, it at least stayed on for awhile.

Ah yes, I forgot that you mentioned they were stacked.
I didn't know that PnS had better DOF either!

Interesting and unique beetle....Is it big and does it glows? Look like easily spotted due to its glowing colors

when you encounter a beetle that is big enough to hug, I have only one recommendation:

RUN

Its a normal beetle size, and the blue is kind of matt colour when you see it. guess the flash lights it up somewhat. If I recall, in 2006, it was taken under some shade and it looked darked coloured.
