Triopo has a small ball head that costs ~$36 at CP. Worth taking a look at. I used this when I was in BJ with a MF monopod. My lens + D40x was well supported.

With tripods and ballheads, one pays more for a cheaper model in the long run (this statement may need some chewing to digest).

Yeah. So far, Triopo and Benro are very similar. Perhaps as Reportage suggested.... same factory, different names ?

Heck, I am on the verge of buying the $36 Triopo head for my Benro CF monopod too. At least it is light enough not to increase the overall weight of my CF monopod dramatically. Also, don't need a QR system and this seems to fit right in..... was considering the 482 at CP the other week but postponed my purchased to do more research.....

On the topic of copy, does anyone know whether Feisol is originally designed by their factory in Taiwan ? Or is it a "copy" of some brand ?

replica or not maybe its just a benro with out its brand badge stick on

i am using it and find that its pretty good and able to hold my 2-3 kg gear easily

for that kind of price it not easy to find a ball head with dual adjustment knob.

the manfrotto 482 looks solid. looks lke cast iron material. but the ball and the rotation chamber seem a bit rough? do you get smooth movement from that?

was all set to get the cheaper and relatively unknown heads since i had relatively good luck with such tripod and monopod among other things but after playing with them for a while and discovering their quirks had to reconsider.

looks like for ballhead need to up budget but since was given a good price even though it was substantially higher then what i was planning, i brought home this after about an hour of touch touch and testing with my system.

did a few tests but for the price i got it at, two words....Good Stuff.
