Managed to catch quite a few buggers by staying fixed at a spot today. Some shots to share. C&C most welcomed.

#11: I had always wanted to catch a shot of a crab spider that I saw in CS. Finally found one today.
![]() #12: Had to go on upside-down position to get this shot. Didn't realise shot 11 was the backside until this view. ![]() #13: Belly shot ![]() |

The mentioned crab spider above isn't a crab spider, its a Gasteracantha Hasselti

Thanks all for comments.
I'm not as good as the experts out there and still trying to learn. Your postings are good as well and I enjoy them! It's along Choa Chu Kang Way just opposite Kranji Secondary School. Not that suitable for big groups. It gets hot early in the morning due to east-facing and don't stray to the restricted area. |

ehhehee The Gasteracantha Hasselti isn't easy to shoot due to the fact that its tiny and partially reflective, not to mention the vegetation challenge for its "nicer" side always being at the other direction. This is a wonderful catch. Crab spiders, for the few Generas, normally populate around 1) Foliage of trees and shurbs 2) Low vegetation / flower heads 3) Twigs, Grass 4) Leaf litter (dead leaves) Our easier bet would to check for no.2 as the are unique and tiny spiders. The ones at the flower normally camo's itself to the flower's color or closed to so its not that easy to spot, but once you find it, its an awesome picture to shoot. Do keep inmind the Male Crab spider whcih is only 20% of the size of the female.
