    The 40D is a good camera and certainly able to capture beautiful photos if used well. Maybe you can learn 40D's functions in depth so as to make the best out of the camera. Great choice

    I think what you need right now is to experiment with what you have first. The dual kit lens is enough for this purpose. Good job, though, for you have been experimenting all week. More,more,more!

    Any EF or EF-S lens will work fine. Use your kit lens first and only get other lenses once you can clearly say in which way the current lens limits you.
