Is LX3 good for shooting moving targets like babies&kiddies?

Am currently using an F11 to shoot pics of my 1yr old... As u know kids never stay still, n i find only about half the shots i take r usable... I know a dslr will solve most of my problems, but its just too big n bulky, even the e420.

Been researching alot on the LX3... can anyone share experience on this subject? does the f2.0 lens really make a difference? Posting some pics would certainly b appreciated.
