    Default gimbal or ballhead?

    never used gimbal before but pretty interesting gadget.

    any users care to comment on this?

    are there any shop that specialize in either or both??

    Gimbal are more for support long heavy zoom like 300mm 2.8, 400mm 2.8 and above where you cannot handheld it to shoot for half a day to full day. You can try them out either in Cathay or Orient Photo.

    Gimbal is for easy movement , pan and balance of the longer telephoto lenses
    For usual lenses a smaller ball head gets things done faster and easier.

    I dun have a full Gimbal but i got a sidekick attachment.

    Wimberley and Kirk are examples of Gimbal manufacturers.

    Yep, a guideline would be use gimbal for lenses beyond 300mm >
