    That is currently already being lobbyed for by the Association of Crimnal Lawyers and Law Society. I think you're trying to say that police should have lesser powers toa rrest pple unti pple have better rights after they get arrested, but I feel they are separate concepts. Because anyway, the determined victim will result in you going to get arrested, just going to take longer and through more processes.

    Lobbies don't work here. They just passed an outrageous Act by asking us to "trust them".

    Actually, I won't say they 100% don't work, it is just very limited and very slow. In relation to the original point, I think it is better to change the bar, otherwise as is now the case, people have this perception that it is okay to punch someone becuase the police won't do anything.

    I do agree with your point on the "asking us to trust them" bit, that is rather ridiculous in my view.
