Doesn't seem too different from the E420.

interesting that it's not and E-420 replacement but it sits between E-420 and E-520

Oops, I missed this thread.
![]() I think that they made a mistake only giving it the 3 point AF when it's not considered good already. Apparently, the TruePIC III+ processor should help in other ways. I'm not sure why they think it should be named as if it's a leap forward. If it fixes the problems with the E-420, then shouldn't it at most be the E-430? It looks like a rather broad lineup now. They're going to need more lenses or soon it'll look as though they have one lens per body. ![]()

I think this is more for people who find 620 price a bit too high.

In the U.S. press release they mentioned:
It's certainly an interesting way to launch a product.

The + can mean it's half a notch up because it can process Art Filter? That's why Olympus name this model E-450 instead of E-430? Last edited by diCam; 31st March 2009 at 11:13 PM. |

Seems like Oly is flogging the 450 to the mass market. As you said, interesting marketing strategy, may prove to be a winner. |

i see the E450 nothing more than a marketing flag post to maintain the "smallest dslr" title. shame that the 7-AF point and new VF from the E620 didn't make it over.
Olympus is getting lazy

They could have used even a 5 point auto focus just to say that they'd improved it somewhat. Even the least expensive Pentax has such. 3 point is so 1990s.

E450 is just like a car's facelift of E420 to me..slight tune in engine section...

Somehow...this is not tempting. In any case, this is aimed at people moving from prosumers. I wonder why its not the 420 replacement...

I was surprise to see the price for E450 kit so cheap! I saw E420 twin kits selling only at $788!!!
