Dear underwater photography enthusiasts,
I am giving a heads up on a gathering that hopefully can happen in April (pending delivery) for the new Olympus addition to their family line of cameras and underwater housing. This event is specifically for underwater photographers and would be a gathering for and by underwater photographers. A good time for people who share the same hobby to come together, and I am trying, at the same time, to fly in a friend who shoots for editorials to join us, but this depends on the budget that I have been given for this event. I will make an official announcement when the event planning comes together, just wanting to give everyone a heads up. Featured at this outing/gathering will include : - Showcase the new Olympus E-620 with Contrast Detection technology for fast focusing using Live View (Olympus pioneered Live View for DSLR back in 2006). - Underwater casing from Olympus. Instead of an all clear housing, part of the housing is in translucent black so as to minimise on internal reflection and flaring when shooting in shallower waters. - Ports and pieces... everyone is always looking at the underwater housing system as a whole, I am sure the new housing will be one of the better ones available in the market. But instead of marketing and sales talking, why not ask Olympus to bring in one and let you guys have a look? Last but not least, there are plans to organise an outing (a dive) and bringing the new camera and housing and let you guys play with it underwater! Let the pictures do the talking, they say. Will keep everyone updated. Thanks for your attention.

I cannot say right now. I am hoping for at least a dive in the clearer waters of Tioman... but this depends on the budget everyone is willing to spend. We will explore this and see what happens... still in the midst of talking about this.
What would you prefer? (I would love to go to Maldives, ha ha ha... but I don't think we have the budget for it).

The local office is definitely keen to make this happen. So when the schedule is set, and gear arrives, I will make the announcement here. Thanks for the enthusiastic support.
