I'm kinda expecting big things from the Kid (Vettel) this season.

    Sat Practice just ended.

    1.Rosberg
    2.Webber
    3.Massa
    4.Trulli
    5.Glock
    6.Vettel
    7.Raikkonen
    8.Nakajima
    9.Barrichello
    10.Button

Just saw the coverage of BBC online. Wonderful commentary and analysis, although its abit irritating abt them reading Text Messages. There was another coverage from Spanish TV and their commentary was so noisy...

All the fastest times were set on the Soft tyre towards the last 10mins of the session, and most runners used only 1 set of Softs, while some used 2 sets. Early on in the session they ran on the Hard tyre. The soft tyre is almost 0.6 secs faster in Qualifying trim.

Button and Barrichello spotted smoke coming out of their engines but that has been clarified by Jock Clear that they were running maximum oil levels.

Analysis: Ferrari, Mclaren, BMW are running KERS, including Nick Heidfeld, who reckons that with KERS it is an advantage in the run up from the start to first corner. Calculations show an advantage of 7 meters, which is enough to pull alongside the car in front of you to make a move at the first lap first corner.

    Pick for POLE: RAIKKONEN.
Joker: The impending storm. Dark clouds all over Sepang at the moment could throw up things into the mix.

Dun count on Rosberg for pole position, they aren't that quick on race fuel load. Raikkonen looks smooth on the inboard camera. But mainly KERS has an effect on the lap times, esp on the 2 straights and on the run to turn 4. Lewis Hamilton was heard on the radio to deploy KERS at exit of Turn 2.

The battle is now between Ferari and Redbull (vettel-also 10 grid penalty) for pole, or Barrichello may fuel light as he gets a 5 place penalty.

Now i'm wondering if i should watch the BBC coverage or watch the starsports coverage and cope with irritating steve slater.

    Brawn GP on pole again!!!

Jenson Button puts Brawn GP on pole position with Toyota's Jarno Trulli alongside him in P2. Sebastian Vettel of RBR-Renault is 3rd on the grid for tmw's race. The Ferraris and Mclarens are out of the top 8!! now that's shocking. full results below..

Last year's winner, Massa, has been knocked out in Q1. Probably too complacent.

    Shummi should go drive instead!

Im impressed with how Mclaren handled the situation.

    Button did it again.

Looks like a new world order as in Melbourne last weekend. Ferrari and McLaren out of the picture!

looks like this year belongs to last year's midfield competitors.

ferrari were complacent. they thought that kimi and massa in 9th and 10th spot would breeze thru q1. by the time ferrari realized both could be eliminated it was too late.

It's a real shame. Sepang is a circuit that plays very nicely to ALL of Ferrari's advantages, and yet Kimi at P9. And look who's grinning next to Kimi, good ol' Alonso with his extremely uncompetitive car.

Kimi being Kimi, he's never known to be a position hustler during the start. Instead, he's more likely to give up places.

Just hope Kimi stays awake enough at least to hold his position.

Typo error. I wanted to say I'm not impressed with how they handled the situation.

    race has been red flagged!

mechanics are working on the cars while the drivers are out.. maybe for toilet break.

race is now suspended, but could restart if charlie decides the conditions are safe enough.
