    I cannot disagree, but somehow with the advance in post processing,m sometimes, even those lightly processed photos, will be able to change the colour tone / warm... Am i right?

    IMHO, I felt there is minor post processing in this photos, I guess it is a sunrise. about 30 min after the first light emits...

    No PS except resizing, but the in-camera color saturation is set to mid-high (which is one notch higher then std in the S5pro).

    My guess is hmm...sunrise. Because most of the time, I see this sky colour during sunrise on my fishing trip. Should not be wrong.

    When the light is good, sunrise or sunset doesn't matter anymore. Having been shooting in Singapore waking up in ungodly hours and baking in the sun chasing the light, I find sunrise and sunset are somewhat similiar from the photos that I gather so far but to further scrutinise, my sunrise shots are usually more stronger, harsher shadows while my sunsets shots are more subdued. Then again, its quite hard to tell the difference. I usually notice by looking at the location but only in SG la.

    I prefer shooting sunsets because of the longer lingering light during the golden minute. During sunrise, the opening ceremony is somewhat shorter. if you miss the shot, you are going to be greeted with the strong light and I would usually call it a day and head straight for breakfast. Shooting sunrise in SG is more challenging than sunsets due to the limited location you can find.

    Some e.g.

    Sunrise

    Sunset

    yes, and the sun in your picture is very hard to handle, extreme contrast and all.

    to be honest, i personally have not found any particular set of colors, though yes, perhaps sunrise tends to be warmer. at the back of mind this is actually more because we don't go early enough before sunrise to see the same blueish hour you get after sunset..

    I think this pic looks like sunset to me.

    Sunrise to me gives a brighter feel....sunset gives a "heavier" and warmer feel....duno how to describe...

    I think it is sunset, to capture sunrise at this height you either have to sleepover or climb at night ...

    So far the guesses have been quite even , with 5 guessed sunset and 4 sunrise. And to be honest I've actually forgotten whether it is sunrise or sunset. By just looking at the picture I can't really tell.

    Luckily there are EXIF data! The time taken is highlighted in bold red:

    Make = FUJIFILM
    Model = FinePix S5Pro
    Orientation = top/left
    X Resolution = 72
    Y Resolution = 72
    Resolution Unit = inch
    Exposure Time = 1/20"
    F Number = F8
    Exposure Program = Aperture priority
    ISO Speed Ratings = 400
    Exif Version = Version 2.21
    Date Time Original = 2009-02-27 20:16:32
    Date Time Digitized = 2009-02-27 20:16:32
    Components Configuration = YCbcr
    Compressed Bits Per Pixel = 4
    Shutter Speed Value = 4.5 TV
    Exposure Bias Value = 0EV
    Metering Mode = Pattern
    Flash = Flash did not fire, compulsory flash mode
    Focal Length = 26mm

    So there you go, it is a sunset.

    Actually it does not matter sunrise or sunset, in my opinion. BUT...there is one good thing that I learn from shooting sunrise or sunset. Given a particular day with a nice sunrise....most of the time, if the atmosphere does not change drasticly......factors such as pollution & clouds.....on the same day, the sunset would probably be as great.

    As I live on the top most floor and my door is facing dead north, i could see the sunrise and sunset. I usually get the cue to prepare or get home for the shot given what i see in the morning....

    Probably sunset... because nobody in the right frame of mind will venture out into such icy frosty coldness in the morning.

    Haha you're looking at the person without the right frame of mind. I took this one at 7:24am at the same day and place (at our campsite). And yes I was freezing my butts off.

    Sometime I would wonder why I would bother to wake up early before dawn to catch the first light of the day...
