No there isn't, but if it's any comfort, the lens is likely light enough that a tripod mount is largely unnecessary anyway.

50-200 mm combo with EC-14 = 70-280mm.
it is similar to 70-300, except the combo is more expensive but more versatile (as in if you dont need the reach but you need the speed, it can give you that - esp indoor). 70-300 may be difficult indoor. |

The 70-300 is at least 300g (3/4lb) lighter than either of the 50-200mm lenses.

if you take more of indoor shots... likely you'll find the 70-300mm pretty useless...
But outdoors... that is really a lens you'll grow to love the bokeh and reach of the lens is something thats i would really call value for money... and it even has macro cap... which enables u to take pretty sharp pictures of small ants and such... Stop it down to F8 and you'll have a really fine picture at SGD 500+... can't ask for a better lens ![]()

currently my main shoots are just for my sec school only..they are kinda short on photographers so im kinda like their backup. and currently im using my kits lens back from my e-300 so a 3.5 is kinda hard for me. but yes i do go outdoors to shoot too. what do you guys think about the 50-200 for alil macro ? say something similar to the 70-300 as mentioned above ? |

the 70-300 is a very good lens if you do outdoors,
![]() with the provision of good lighting. but at that price, what more to ask for. Add to the lightweight of the lens, its rather portable too.

This is too much already, first want long zoom then want cheap, but want fast lense so can use indoor and then ask for macro.
![]() If there is such lense, one thing for sure, it will not be cheap. That is like want a gf, must live next door, must be pretty, must be hourglass figure, must have sizable boobs, know how to cook ... If there is such girl for sure she wont be cheap. LOL ![]() 50-200 is roughly 1.5K and it is not macro. it is fast enough to be used indoor. Of course you dont expect to use this with ISO 100, and you need to turn on IS by the way. |

maybe he doesn't know what he want, having an all in one lens can also kill sales, like, let's say having a 14-300mm fast lens with macro capabilites,it will kill off all other lens, and it will be freaking heavy as well, gotta prioritize what you want and or what you need first, since you already have a flash, probably invest in a 50-200 or 70-300 first

Continue on this subject... ...
1. Has anyone try using the 70-300 shoooting wild birds in Singapore (e.g.: at Botanical Gardens, Parks, Sg Buloh). I am comtemplating of getting this lens for reasons being cheap and light as compared Canon 400mm f5.6 or Nikon/Canon 100-400mm to cover almost the same range. I owe neither system yet. 2. How is the AF at low light conditions (e.g.: forested areas)? Many thanks. |

i've used it to shoot birds, quite hard because of slow focusing, but good in bright daylight with sharp pictures,in low light conditions,it just drives one nuts
