Hey guys.
Plaining to get the Canon 10-20mm lens for my 40D. Any users with the lens can give their views? Is it better on a FF body? How is the lens compared to other lens or on other body. Is there any other points that i should know? I have read too many reviews and there are so many ups and downs. So looking to you guys for help. Thanks. |

I see no downs when I was using it with my 40D. Served me extremely well. Generally, it's sharp and exhibits minimal barrel distortion - shortcoming of L zoom lens of equivalent focal range at wide end. This is why I am a little disappointed with my 17-40. Ring-USM is a plus too. IMO, best UWA for your 40D. Well, was contemplating to get the Sigma 12-24 DG HSM but figured the wider the better and I didn't see myself going to FF at that time.
Good luck. |

The lens is really good. You may need to take note of barrel distortion at the extreme wide angle, especially if you are shooting people in the scene too.
Some vignetting may be seen with stacked filters at the wind end, so do take note if you are using a UV + Polarizer. Slim versions would help in this situation. |

I love this lens. Ended up using it most of the time when I visited Bali a couple of weeks ago.
As others have pointed, try to avoid stacking filters as vignetting may occur. Also, try to get a lens hood if you can. Will definitely help in bright/sunny days condition. ![]() Go for it! ![]() :Later,

I wanted to get a canon 10-22mm as well. The reviews about it has been fairly good, some stating it to be a L lens. But I've got a Tokina 10-17mm Fisheye. Anyone thinks it's feasible to own another wide angle?? |
