SB600, 800 or 900?

depending on the usage of the flash, it can be 600, 800 and 900. ha, just kidding. most people will opt for the 800(discontinued)/900 since it is able to perform as a master/slave in wireless operation. aside from that, the guide number is higher than the 600 and are usable with external battery packs (original and 3rd party) for quick recycling or extended shooting. did i miss out anything? yup, they cost almost double what the SB600 cost. so if you are a casual or light user, the SB600 will serve you well.

you probably won't be able to get a new 800 since they are discontinued. the 900 is replacing the 800 at the same price. just get the 900. lots of improvement which were mistakes or shortcomings in the 800. but if price is a stretch, a second hand 800 will do as well. |
